Okay, today at 1:03 pm I turned 37. My D got me emerald earrings - they are beautiful. Emerald is my birthstone but I never owned any before.
I've never really enjoyed my B'day because of the way my parents treated it when I was a kid. So I always get a bit depressed and I can't seem to feel good about it.
Sorry to sound so down - can't help it.

K and M - I forgive but I expected more from you.

I posted 'Barron's Does Take Out' on my site.

Last week D started his new job. He's happy and it tires him out but he's not angry all the time. This is good for both of us.

Finally Some Good News

D has a new job starting Monday! They offered it to him last week pending the results of the usual background and drug checks (nothing to worry about there). They got the results Thurs. and officially told him to report Monday.
H'd wanted to give two weeks notice but they needed him fast. He was able to tell his current employers last Thursday so they had some time.
As usually, all the big mucky-mucks found their way from their offices to his to tell him just how terrific he is and how he will be missed. This week one of the corporate big-wig flew in and when he was told he couldn't get to D fast enough to tell him how sorry they were to be losing him. Where were all these people when D asked for his position to be reclassified? His job was such that he wasn't working within the guidlines of its current classification. The only answer they gave him was 'that isn't the way the company works.' Now, his immediate boss tells him they will have to hire outside the company to fill the position and they are going to have to pay the new person more money. That just made D's day - what a crock of
$#!+ - warm, moist diarhea type.
Sorry folks just blowing off steam.

Another subject; I have about five stories in beta and I'll post as soon as possible.

Real Life Can Kick You In The Rump

Well, RL has been crazy. Saturday, April 8th my, I don't function before ten am, sister called me a little after seven am. I knew it couldn't be good; it wasnt'. My 87 year old father fell on the previous Tuesday. They took him to the hospital and they checked him out and released him. Saturday morning (one am) he called two other sisters complaining of severe pain in his neck. They called 911 and this time they found out he'd broken his neck. He was air lifted to UoM Hospital at Ann Arbor. We, one sister and husband, were in a car by one pm to start our 2000 mi. trek from Florida to Michigan (no flights available for three days because of Spring Break). We arrived Sunday night at ten pm. Dad was in a 'halo' to restict his movement and provide support and will have to keep it on for at least three months. Wed. he was transported to a rehab center for a min. of three weeks. Our mom is in no condition to care for him so we have no idea what will happen when he's released. Two of my sisters and a brother live in the area and are searching out solutions. Time will tell.
